AFTERINK TATTOO — CLIENT POLICIES AND SERVICE AGREEMENT
Effective Date: July 1, 2026
Website: https://www.afterinktattoo.com
Email: afterinkllc.tattoo@gmail.com
INTRODUCTION
At AFTERINK TATTOO, we are committed to providing thoughtful, professional tattoo services while maintaining clear communication, appropriate safety practices, and respect for our clients' privacy and creative preferences.
This policy explains our booking procedures, payment requirements, cancellation and refund terms, custom artwork practices, client responsibilities, privacy practices, and other conditions associated with our services.
By requesting an appointment, submitting a custom design request, or paying a deposit, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review these policies. Any agreement remains subject to applicable law and any additional consent or documentation legally required for your procedure.
1. ELIGIBILITY AND IDENTIFICATION
AFTERINK TATTOO provides tattoo services only to individuals aged 18 or older. Clients must present valid, acceptable, government-issued photo identification before a tattoo procedure begins. We do not tattoo minors, even where an exception might otherwise be permitted by law.
We may decline or postpone a procedure if a client's identity, age, eligibility, or ability to provide informed consent cannot be adequately established.
2. APPOINTMENTS AND BOOKING
Appointments may be requested through our website, booking platform, or other approved communication channels. Submitting an inquiry or appointment request does not guarantee acceptance or reserve an appointment.
An appointment is confirmed only after AFTERINK TATTOO accepts the request and receives any required deposit.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information, reviewing appointment confirmations, and communicating scheduling changes as early as possible.
3. DEPOSITS AND PAYMENT TERMS
The standard deposit required to reserve a tattoo appointment is 50% of the quoted tattoo price, unless a different amount is disclosed and agreed upon before payment.
Deposits are applied toward the agreed-upon tattoo service and help reserve appointment time and cover preparation associated with the project.
Before or at the time payment is accepted, AFTERINK TATTOO will disclose the applicable deposit amount, service description, price, and relevant refund conditions. Dated written receipts will be provided as required by applicable law.
The remaining balance is due according to the payment terms communicated before the appointment. Accepted payment methods, applicable taxes, and any lawful processing fees will be disclosed before payment.
The rules governing deposit transfers, cancellations, forfeitures, and refunds are set out in Section 5 of this policy.
4. CUSTOM TATTOO DESIGN AND ARTWORK
4.1 Design requests
Custom tattoo designs are developed using information provided during consultation, including the client's concept, reference images, preferred style, placement, approximate size, and other design preferences.
Clients are encouraged to provide clear references and communicate their ideas thoroughly before design work begins. AFTERINK TATTOO may decline requests that fall outside the artist's experience, artistic direction, availability, safety requirements, or professional boundaries.
4.2 Design preparation and revisions
Custom design work may begin after the booking is confirmed and applicable deposit requirements have been satisfied.
Reasonable adjustments that remain within the original agreed-upon concept may be discussed during the design process. Significant changes to the concept, subject matter, size, placement, composition, or level of detail may require additional design time, a revised quote, or a new appointment. Any additional charges must be communicated and agreed upon before the additional work proceeds.
Clients should communicate requested changes as early as possible. Last-minute changes may not be possible without rescheduling.
4.3 Design approval
Clients are responsible for carefully reviewing the proposed design, including spelling, names, dates, symbols, composition, placement, and approximate size.
Final approval must be provided before tattooing begins. AFTERINK TATTOO will discuss reasonable concerns before proceeding, and clients will not be required to proceed with a design they have not approved.
Once tattooing has begun, significant design changes may no longer be possible.
4.4 Artwork ownership and intellectual property
Custom artwork created by AFTERINK TATTOO remains the intellectual property of its respective rights holder unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment for a tattoo service does not automatically transfer copyright or ownership of the underlying artwork.
Unless authorized by the applicable rights holder, clients may not reproduce, resell, distribute, commercially use, or provide original AFTERINK TATTOO artwork to another artist for duplication.
AFTERINK TATTOO respects the intellectual property rights of other artists. Reference images are used to communicate inspiration and preferences, not to claim ownership of another artist's work. Requests to reproduce another artist's design may be declined or adapted into a sufficiently original concept.
4.5 Design exclusivity
Custom artwork is not automatically exclusive to one client unless exclusivity is expressly agreed upon in writing before design work begins.
AFTERINK TATTOO will not knowingly sell or reproduce a client's personalized design as an identical custom commission for another client without permission. Common themes, general concepts, and stylistic elements may naturally overlap between tattoo designs.
4.6 Design delivery and digital files
Designs are prepared for the agreed-upon tattoo service. Original working files, editable files, layered artwork, and high-resolution digital files are not automatically included.
Clients may request copies of approved designs. Availability and any applicable fees will be communicated before delivery. Receiving a stencil or tattoo-ready design does not grant permission to reproduce or commercially distribute the artwork.
5. CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING, AND REFUNDS
5.1 Client-initiated rescheduling
Clients must provide at least 48 hours' notice when requesting to reschedule an appointment.
When sufficient notice is provided, the deposit may be transferred once to an accepted replacement appointment, subject to availability. Further rescheduling requests may require a new deposit if disclosed in advance and permitted by law.
5.2 Client-initiated cancellations
Clients should notify AFTERINK TATTOO as soon as possible if they need to cancel.
Deposits are generally nonrefundable when a client cancels or fails to attend a confirmed appointment, subject to the terms disclosed before payment and applicable law. Any amount retained must be consistent with the agreed terms and applicable legal requirements.
If a client cancels, abandons, or decides not to proceed with a custom project, deposit handling will follow these same cancellation and refund provisions. Time spent on custom artwork does not automatically create an additional fee unless that fee was disclosed and agreed upon in advance.
5.3 No-shows and late arrivals
A no-show occurs when a client fails to attend a confirmed appointment without prior notice. A no-show may result in deposit forfeiture under the disclosed booking terms, and a new deposit may be required before another appointment is confirmed.
Late arrivals may result in a shortened session or rescheduling if the delay affects the schedule or the safe completion of the procedure. Any additional fees must be disclosed in advance and comply with applicable law.
5.4 Studio-initiated cancellations
If AFTERINK TATTOO cancels an appointment, the client may choose to transfer the deposit to an agreed-upon replacement appointment or receive a refund of the deposit.
If the studio cannot provide a service for which payment has been collected, unearned amounts will be refunded as required by applicable law.
5.5 Completed services and refund eligibility
Payments for completed tattoo services are generally nonrefundable solely because a client changes their mind about the design or final appearance.
This provision does not limit any rights or remedies available when a service was not provided as agreed, a refund is required by law, or another applicable legal obligation has not been met.
5.6 Refund processing
Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method whenever possible. Processing times depend on the payment provider and financial institution.
5.7 Requesting a cancellation or refund
To request a cancellation or refund, contact AFTERINK TATTOO at afterinkllc.tattoo@gmail.com. Include your name, appointment date, and a brief explanation of your request.
All deposit and refund provisions are subject to applicable law. Nothing in this policy authorizes the studio to retain funds when a refund is legally required.
6. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Clients agree to provide accurate information and valid identification; arrive on time and prepared for appointments; privately disclose relevant health conditions, skin concerns, allergies, medications, or healing issues when necessary to assess safety; follow pre-appointment instructions and aftercare guidance; communicate discomfort, concerns, or unexpected reactions during the procedure; treat the artist and others respectfully; refrain from attending appointments while impaired by alcohol or recreational drugs; and review and approve their tattoo design before the procedure begins.
7. SAFETY AND REFUSAL OF SERVICE
AFTERINK TATTOO may decline, postpone, or stop a procedure when reasonably necessary to protect client safety, maintain sanitation standards, ensure informed consent, or uphold professional standards.
Reasons may include intoxication, unsuitable skin conditions at the intended tattoo site, inability to provide informed consent, failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, or other relevant safety concerns.
Harassment, threatening behavior, or deliberate interference with sanitary procedures may result in the procedure being stopped or future bookings being declined.
Any payments or refunds associated with a declined, postponed, or discontinued procedure will be handled in accordance with Section 5 and applicable law.
8. HEALING, RESULTS, AND TOUCH-UPS
8.1 Healing and results
Healing, pigment retention, and the final appearance of a tattoo vary from person to person. Skin characteristics, tattoo placement, aftercare practices, and other individual factors may affect the healing process and final results.
AFTERINK TATTOO will provide aftercare instructions. Clients are responsible for following those instructions and seeking appropriate medical care if concerning symptoms develop. The artist does not provide medical diagnoses or replace professional medical care.
The studio will make reasonable efforts to follow the agreed-upon design but cannot guarantee that the finished, healed tattoo will look identical to a digital mock-up or reference image.
8.2 Touch-ups
Touch-up requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility may depend on the original work, the condition of the healed tattoo, adherence to aftercare instructions, the time elapsed since the original procedure, and the nature of the requested correction.
Touch-ups are not automatically complimentary or guaranteed. Any applicable charges and eligibility conditions will be communicated before the service is performed.
Clients with healing concerns may contact the studio with clear photographs and a description of the issue. Suspected infection or other concerning symptoms should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.
9. PRIVACY AND PHOTOGRAPHY
9.1 Personal information
AFTERINK TATTOO may collect personal information needed to respond to inquiries, manage appointments, prepare designs, process payments, maintain client records, provide aftercare guidance, and meet legal obligations.
Information may include contact details, booking information, relevant consent and safety records, payment transaction details, and technical information collected through the website or booking platform.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information and retain it as reasonably necessary for business operations, legal obligations, safety requirements, and dispute resolution. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure.
9.2 Sharing and third-party services
Personal information may be shared with booking platforms, website hosts, payment processors, professional advisers, and other service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the business. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, or security.
Third-party websites, booking platforms, and payment providers operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
9.3 Client privacy requests and communications
Clients may contact afterinkllc.tattoo@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information, subject to applicable law and any legal record-retention obligations.
Where applicable, clients may opt out of promotional communications using the unsubscribe option provided or by contacting the studio.
9.4 Photography and promotional use
AFTERINK TATTOO may ask permission to photograph a tattoo or the surrounding area for portfolio, website, educational, or promotional purposes.
Separate permission is required before identifiable client photographs are used for promotional purposes. Agreeing to receive tattoo services does not automatically authorize promotional use of a photograph.
Clients may decline promotional photography without affecting their eligibility for tattoo services. Any permission granted will be subject to its agreed scope and applicable law.
9.5 Cookies and website technology
The website or booking platform may use cookies and similar technologies to support functionality and, where applicable, analyze website usage. Any applicable disclosures or consent requirements will be handled in accordance with relevant law.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CLIENT CONDUCT
Clients must respect the intellectual property rights described in Section 4 and may not use original artwork beyond the permissions granted by the applicable rights holder.
Clients are also expected to follow reasonable studio instructions and behave respectfully toward the artist and others. Conduct that compromises safety, sanitation, or the ability to provide services professionally may result in a procedure being declined, paused, or discontinued under Section 7.
11. LIMITATIONS AND GOVERNING LAW
Nothing in this policy waives or limits liability for negligence, statutory violations, or other responsibilities to the extent such liability cannot legally be waived or limited.
This policy does not replace legally required informed consent, sanitation procedures, recordkeeping requirements, or other mandatory obligations.
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, subject to applicable federal law and mandatory consumer protections.
12. POLICY UPDATES AND CONTACT INFORMATION
AFTERINK TATTOO may update this policy to reflect changes in services, business practices, technology, or legal requirements. Revised versions will be published on the website with an updated effective date and applied as permitted by law.
Questions about appointments, services, or these policies may be directed to AFTERINK TATTOO at https://www.afterinktattoo.com or afterinkllc.tattoo@gmail.com.
